As I flew into London for a stop-over on my way to Chicago, a thought popped in my head... "I MISS MEDITERRANEAN ARCHITECTURE". Not just the white-washed buildings but also the blue, blue sea that surrounds it. And the unpolluted air of the islands... and the mosques of Turkey... and the open-air bars in Tanzania... and the fresh fish in Africa and Greece... and.... aaaahh I LOVE travelling!
But, my world tour took a detour home for 5 weeks...
I made it just in time for the festivities surrounding Betsy & Mike's wedding (Matt's sister & now bro-in-law). Quite a celebration. I missed Bonnaroo for the first time ever... but I also missed NOLA Jazz Fest after attending 11 consecutive years. I was definitely disappointed to miss them both but C'MON I'm doing enough amazing things this year to miss one or two of the usual amazing things.
I am enjoying seeing all my family and friends - and waking up each day to do what I WANT, instead of going to the office and fitting my stuff in around work. I am not a morning person, but have found it relatively easy to get up early, as I did while travelling. When you are excited to do things - I find that waking up is much easier (and that's saying a lot coming from ME, a total night owl).
I will upload some pictures while I'm home, so check back soon! And thanks for venturing along with me on my trip
